Description: This four season shrub begins its show in spring with white ‘spirea like’ clusters of flowers which transition into black-purple edible berries in the summer. With fall, this shrub puts on a show of bright red foliage and is a perfect native alternative to invasive burning bush. Any remaining berries through winter are a welcome snack to returning birds in early spring. This shrub is adaptable to a variety of soil types and makes a fantastic privacy hedge. Self fertile but two specimens will create larger fruit.
